The Blank Page (Good Advice from Seth Godin)

I love Seth’s idea of “leave spaces around you to jot things down” to keep ideas flowing. Legal pads, iPad with a stylus fully charged, a whiteboard nearby, Lex.page app open. The Simplenote app on your phone.

Maybe a voice memo recorder in your pocket that you can capture ideas on the go to transcribe back to text later.

Also resonates with how a physical environment can trigger creativity and remove distractions. How clean your desk area is might allow for focus (or not).

Seth Godin on creating space to fill with creative ideas.

Buy more blank canvasses than you need.

Blank pages beg to be filled, and it helps to have them around.

I have a (bad?) habit of writing in pencil on my white desk – it’s instant gratification, no mad scramble to find paper, and then at the end of the day or week, you wipe it off and have a clean slate for next week. Linda 🙂

Thanks (probably not a good role model, but the immediacy of it works for me!) 🙃
